As a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), 420736. I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework and comply with UK data protection legislation.

Confidentiality
Everything you share with me during counselling is treated confidentially.
There are a small number of situations where I may have a legal or ethical duty to share information, for example if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable adult, or where disclosure is required by law.
As with all BACP-registered counsellors, I undertake regular professional supervision. Any discussions within supervision are anonymised and my supervisor is bound by the same standards of confidentiality.
How long i keep your information
If you contact me but do not proceed with counselling, your enquiry will normally be retained for up to six months before being securely deleted.
If you become a client, your records will be retained securely for the period required by my professional insurer and current professional guidance before being confidentially destroyed.
What rights you have over your data
You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Request corrections
- Request deletion where appropriate
- Restrict processing
- Object to certain processing
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
